Yep.It's that time of the year again and Wobblybum begins tomorrow - weather permitting, of course. As per usual, i fully expect my man Djoko to win the men's tournament but he's a restrictive price so i'll more often be including him in accas and trebles, etc. And i'm beginning the tournament with;

Djoko to win 3-0, Raonic to win 3-0, Tsitsipas to win 3-0, Halep to win 2-0, Putintseva to win a set and Venus Williams (39 y.o.) to beat Cori Gauf (15 y.o.).

£5 @ almost 11/1 = possible return of £59.20

Question Author
A couple of rather surprising results put paid to yesterday's acca. Hoping for better luck with today's;

Both players to win a set with Kyrgios the winner
Both players to win a set with De Minaur the winner
Both players to win a set with Baghdatis the winner
Thiem to win the match
No tie-break in the Nishikori v Monteiro match

£5 @ 58/1 = poss return of £297
Here's one bet you probably didn't have Ken: Cori Gauff to beat Venus Williams. Incredible stuff from such a young girl.
Question Author
One of the 2 aforementioned 'surprising results', 10C.
Question Author
Nothing doing with the earlier games so i'm havimng another little punt on the following;

John Isner 3-0
Both players to score with Marin Cilic winning
Both players to score with Lucas Pouille winning
Kiki Bertens v Mandy Minella over 17.5 games
Donna Vekic v Alison Riske over 21.5 games

£5 @ just under 48/1 for a possible return of £243.63
How are you doing, so far.
Question Author
£15 in the red, so far, Butterbun. The problem with gambling on the first week at Wimbledon is that, with so many names in the first few rounds, many of them have never faced each other so there are no head to head stats for me to peruse. It's all about current form (which obviously fluctuates) and gut instinct. Still, i've always been a glass half full person, so i persevere :-)) When the second week comes around, much of the wheat has been separated from the chaff, the better players are facing each other and the h2h stats are abundant.

Both players to score and Wawrinka to win
Raonic to win 3-0
Bautista-Agut to win 3-0
Less than 32.5 games played in the Anderson v Tipsarevic match
Putintseva to win
Pliskova to win 2-0

£5 @ just over 22/1 = poss return of £115.62.
Question Author
£20 down, now. As i said, not doing well at all so far. As i also said, glass half full:-)

Wozniaki win
Keys 2-0
Gauff to win a set
Sevastova 2-0
Martic 2-0

£5 @ just under 11/1 = £58.77 return
I think you've lost again. 2 out of 5 only
Question Author
Don't panic, Mr Mannering! Minus £25 and counting? Hopefully, by using the players first names, my luck will change :-)

Both players to score and Alex De Ninaur to win
Sam Querrey to win first set and the match
Marin Cilic to win first set and the match
John Isner to win first set and the match
Kei Nishikori to win first set and the match
Ashleigh Barty to win first set and the match
Petra Kvitova to win 2-0

£5 @ just under 20s = poss return of £104.27

As an aside, did a £5 7 match acca in the USA MLS early hours for a poss £666. Got 6/7 - New York city winning with a clean sheet wrecked the bet :-(
Question Author
Of course it would help if i spelled Alex Minaur's last name correctly :-/
There's my excuse if the bet bombs.
Question Author
They must be putting something other than Robinson's in the water down in SW19. Cilic beaten, Isner beaten:-(( 4/7, note to self, must do better. £30 down. Tomorrow's another day.................
You didn't mention the Nadal v Kyrgios match.
Question Author
Why would i mention the Nadal v Kyrgios match if i haven't bet on it, Butterbun? I will most likely mention Nadal's name next week when i think he will exit the tournament.
Question Author
£30 down yet i appear to be getting a tad braver/more foolish - take yer pick.

Milos Raonic 1st set and match
Kevin Anderson 1st set and match
Caroline Wozniacki 1st set and match
Petra Martic 1st set and match
Fernando Verdasco to win
BPTS and Roberto Bautista-Agut to win
BPTS and Daniil Medvedev to win

£5 @ just under 63/1 = poss return of £318.22
I was watching it too LB and I totally agree with your last paragraph at 18.53. I thought Ken, who always talks about his betting, would have picked one of them to win. You've lost already today Ken.:-/
Question Author
To be totally honest, Butterbun, i couldn't see an 'in' to the match. Nadal is the undisputed king of clay and his season is always geared to Roland Garros. Yes, i am fully aware that he won both some years back, but he normally falls short here at Wimbledon. Trouble is knowing who will knock him out. Kyrgios at his best stood a good chance but he is his own worst enemy at times and you never know how he will perform. So, thought it best to leave the match alone.
Regards today's pathetic attempt; when players like Kevin Anderson are getting turned over and the Djokerman drops a set in the first week, you just know something's in the water :-/
Question Author
Day 6 and i'm £35 down. Hoping the tournament will begin to settle into some sort of normality - whatever that is.

Kei Nishikori 1st set and match
Matteo Berrenniti 1st set and match
Roger Federer 1st set and match
BPTS & Sam Querrey to win
BPTS & Fabio Fognini to win
Petra Kvitova to win 2-0
Belinda Bencic to win

£5 @ approx 34/1= poss return of £175

Also, i do believe that the Sandgren/Fognini match could go to the deciding set, so i've put a fiver @ 11/2 on Fognini winning 3-2.

Had a very good look at the Nadal v Tsonga match and, again, couldn't really find an 'in'. Nadal holds a 9-4 lead over Tsonga but the Frenchman won their only grass meeting, so i was tempted for a BPTS and Nadal. Then thought better of it.
Question Author
Well, the bad results from week 1 took £45 out of my 'Wimbledon bank' so i'm hoping to vastly improve on that during week 2. Beginning today, hopefully;

Roberto Bautista Agut 1st set and win
Sam Querrey 1st set and win
Kei Nishikori 1st set and win
Milos Raonic 1st set and win
Roger Federer 1st set and win
Ashleigh Barty 1st set and win
Dayana Yastremska 1st set and win
Simona Halep 1st set and win

£5 @ just over 11/1 = poss return of £60.99

Petra Martic 2-1 @ 7/2
Elise Mertens 2-1 @ 16/5
David Goffin 3-1 @ 14/5

£1 Trixie, £1 Treble (Stake £5) = poss return of £195.60
What does BPTS mean? oh, Ash Barty has just lost her match.
