many thanks
NOYANCE for 16a - AY = 'always' ('turning') inside NONCE 'the moment'.
Much better.
I hadn't noticed it is also spelled that way in my link.
Any help with 19d please
Food crop? After climbing tree one misses nothing (7, 2 words)
I have R _ D _ AN _
I can parse Red Lane (= alder reversed + (o)ne) but have never heard of Red Lane
Cedar is an anagram rather than reversal = Red Cane ?
Acer is a backwards tree but then I can't parse the "D"!
Thanks
Crop (usually in birds etc)

synonyms: craw, maw, gullet, throat; oesophagus, pharynx; informal the red lane; archaicthrottle, gorge, gula
Thanks Mamya - I was just about to say it would be like a bird's food crop!
Thanks again!
