A few years ago my daughter had to go to a barber's for an undercut as her hairdresser refused to do it, saying it would 'ruin her hair'. She still uses that barber and saves a fortune, it is much cheaper than the salon :)

Whilst I don't think it's something I'd cry about personally (just stuff em, complain and take my money elsewhere) I can see why she's irked in this day and age why someone thinks it's okay to decline a paying customer on the grounds of gender. Plenty of women use Barber's shops to cut their hair, especially if they have quite short hair, and tbh we ought to be past all that.
