Hopefully someone that has finished can help ... the preamble is long and mentions letters coming in and out of clues... so not much use if you've not seen/done the puzzle...

Canape that's acceptable as fodder for dog (6)
Coloured rings are visible on short part of ear (8)
Game setter taking out his own chamberpot (4) (The setter is POAT)

For the grid entries i am left with S?NT?G sontag ??
?EATHE meathe? and ??T?IA

I took XI (or IX) out of the Brazilian dance clue but don't seem to have an answer to put it back in ??

Sorted the Coloured rings clue and the game setter clue now ... and the XI bit which should have been XE anyway!!!
'Canape' becomes 'Cape' for the definition = SONTAG (ON ='acceptable' inside STAG = 'dog').
