After a VERY annoying period where i seemed to be on a different planet from the setter, I managed to get on his/her wave length but (as usual) I have a couple of queries. They link in the puzzle
The first is "What's to be said about unwanted noise first, say". I have o?d???l , so, ordinal fits. But why?
And the other is "metal one put on a type of board." If the other guess is right, I have ?r?n so the obvious answer is "iron" but apart from the initial I I can't think of any other reason.
Please help!

Oral = what's said, Din = unwanted noise.
...and Ordinal = First.
Ordinal - first for example

Oral (to be said) round Din (noise)
iron is a metal and something you put on an (ironing) board
Iron - a metal and an item one uses to press clothes on a board.

Thank you so much. I feel a bit stupid not seeing the reasons for "ordinal" but I must confess that I am not enthusiastic about "iron" . Whatever!

I am really grateful to you all for taking the time to help me.
