Costive (constipated) chap (cove) to eat italian special (It S up = S It)
Costive (constipated) - 'cove' (chap, to eat) 'It(alian) s(pecial)' (up)
Costive - cove (fellow) around It(alian) s(pecial) reversed
*chap, not fellow
that should have been S tI

Thanks everyone, that was quick! Never heard of cove for chap, to eat.
No, Chap is Cove/Man - the 'eat' means it is around the rest of the wordplay.
Question Author
Thanks Mamyalynne. Of course to eat meant the rest of the wordplay. Don't know why I included it in my response. Didn't know about cove meaning man. Did finally find a definition here that included it:
