On 29 down the answer is avoid. I've never seen nor heard Avid being referenced as Crazy. I've checked various dictionaries etc. but not one has listed crazy as a meaning for avid.

One synonym of avid is keen and if you are keen on something you could say you were crazy for it.

Yes,you have to give the setter some lattitude, a bit like poetic licence.
