Welcome to Title Builder Beta.

This small piece of kit is designed to make building your Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle question more effective. It should make finding your question easier for others and, the easier it is to find, the more likely someone is to answer it!

To build an easy to find question title simply select the paper and quiz, enter the quiz number if relevant and fill in the Publication Date. Once you’re happy click “Build Title” and the information should populate the Title field. Fill in the final required details of your question as you normally would, and click submit.

As this is a Beta we only have a limited number of papers and quizzes listed. If you think your favourite Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle should be listed here don’t hesitate to contact us.

Remember: You do not have to use the title builder - simply enter the title and question as you normally would and click submit!

Clue is:Cries in the manner of prisoner meeting me affectedly, so A LA + LAG + MOI, and the answer means cries (Greek?, Hebrew?)

it says here http://www.crosswordsolver.org/forum/468327/mephisto-2835-11-across that it is the plural of alalagmos which is in CHambers

Most Greek nouns ending in os form their plurals with oi.

It's in the 2003 edition, not sure what number that is.

It (alalagmoi) appeared in Chambers up to and including the 12th edition, but in the 12th edition it was one of those wonderful 'star words'; whilst the removal of the star words from the 13th (2013) edition is surely a good thing, the complete omission of the words themselves from this edition is not! I believe that most if not all of the barred crosswords will start to use the 13th edition from 1st Jan 2015 and where a 'missing' word is used setters will be instructed to include text along the lines of 'The Chambers Dictionary 13th edition is the primary reference; however, it does not list the entry at ??, which appears in earlier editions'.
