Last year McVities reduced the size of there ginger biscuits.
I now notice Andrex have reduced the width of classic quilt toilet rolls by 3mm.Still the same price. Trifling items but why?
I wonder if any other ABs have noticed any other cuts.

On the same theme, one of the curses of modern shopping is that almost everything comes pre-packed in quantities that you neither want nor need. How long is it since you could walk into a shop and buy two eggs? People living on their own are wilfully exploited. I throw away more than I eat. Not so long ago I went to Greggs to buy half a dozen bread buns, only to be told...

in the trade called down sizing less weight of item price goes up
About 3 years ago, Walls changed their ice cream packs to 1.8 litres instead of 2 litres, but the price stayed the same . . .
A classic way of concealing price increases by stealth. Examples are too numerous to mention. I recently noticed that a lb of mince (454g) is now packaged at 400g, same price. Plays havoc with my recipes.
well its not my ****, that's for certain .....
Long noticed. It's been discussed here more than once. I think it is a con, they hope we don't notice.
Iceland chocolate cream eclairs. The size has reduced greatly but they're still £1.
Another example, for smokers, is that some brands of cigarettes are now sold in packets of 9 rather than 10, for the same price.
Our coal supplier recently changed bags from 25 kilo to 20 kilo without mention. When I asked why, they said it was better to make the bags smaller than to put the price up and less people would complain. Less people would notice more likely.

To all the train spotters I have called 'saddest people in the world' ..........

I'm sorry, truly sorry.

Talbot, when the size of a bog rolls gets down to 3mm in width that decrease in size could make quite a difference.
jomifl; 3mm toilet rolls? Better covert to Islam and use water.
The Romans used mussel shells ....ouch!
Simple solution

Lose a bit of width from your ass.
Wagon wheels are tiny - no biggèr than the bottom of a jam jar, they used to be ginormous!

Don't say it jomifl

I think mussel shells are more practical in several ways and the colour is useful too.
I have often wondered about Wagon Wheels. They disappeared during my childhood and did not reappear for many years. I noticed that they were considerably smaller, but was that because they had reduced in size or that they seemed so much bigger in the small hands of a 5 year old?
Nature Valley cereal bars used to have 6 in a box, this has now gone down to 5.
After Eights, stupidly they still put them in big wrappers
