Have mixed feelings about this as some elements are truly very fine indeed but there seem to be a few inconsistencies in the details. For a long while, I imagined something more magnificent (maybe impossible to create) than the final result. Can't go into details ... and it was (as one would expect) a mighty good puzzle, so I don't won't discourage anybody....and I do want to thank Sabre for another enjoyable and classy production.

Yes, I know exactly what you are referring to but agree that going into details would be a real spoiler. Classy, indeed but I have found that with so much cold-solving, this has been really tough and I still have a cell to fill. Going to sleep on it. Thank you Sabre- at least we haven't had to perform Knights' moves!
This was quite difficult indeed, but I think I have a full solution, though two of the wordplays still elude me...Thanks, Sabre, for a worthy challenge!
Thought that the fourth clue was quite neat.
I'm sure there was a more elegant way of solving this than basically cycling through all possibilities of clashes. There were rather a lot really. On the other hand, some of the definitions were fiendish as anything I've seen, e.g. 4th, 17th, 29th clues in particular. A shame that Sabre was unable to fix the minor problem that I'm sure trux and RR are referring to.
Finally done, with one elusive wordplay. Very tough.
Cripes! Am I alone in finding this very tough? I've cold solved a few but have made very little headway with filling the grid. I am not so much in the slow lane as parked on the hard shoulder with this one.
There certainly are some tough clues, and still one or two elusive wordplays. A very solid Listener. Thanks, as always, Sabre.
I'm a smidge over half way through the clues. Just couldn't be bothered with it last night. It seems Sabre's being a little too clever for his own good. We'll see!
Really tough, and some very neat clues. Oddly, 4 (well, a less elegant version of it) had occurred to me before. As with Sabre's last puzzle, there was a range of clue difficulty, and some clues were very difficult indeed, to my mind. I think I understand what trux and Ruthrobin are referring to, and I agree. But many thanks to Sabre, regardless. It made my head hurt...
Yes, that was pretty tough. For some reason I always spend much more time than I should on puzzles such as this with a mixture of very easy and really hard clues -- I obviously lack synchromesh on my mental gears. Given the indexing system it was probably inevitable that there was not going to be that final "Aha" and self-congratulatory smile -- but I still missed it. A good puzzle, nevertheless: thank you, Sabre.
Agreed - very hard work, grid filled, confident with answers, but several wordplays still to figure out. For a puzzle called Coordinates, just a little pointless? But thanks to Sabre for the challenge.
Concur with all said here - some very tough clueing which produced a few expletives along the way! All wordplays finally fell into place bar those for 2 of the shortest words which I found unconvincing to say the least. I'd also take issue with one other clue which is misleading if interpreted in the true sense. Minor gripes aside a very challenging Listener indeed by Sabre.
Late start this weekend and a typically tough Sabre offering although not perhaps quite up there with his best. Like others on the thread I'm missing a few wordplays and a little underwhelmed by the finish. Good workout none the less.
A nice tough challenge. Thanks, Sabre.
Quite good in the end, but I am kicking myself in not reading the instructions carefully enough about how the clashing cells relate to the outer cells. STUPID as it would have helped in a much quicker solve!

Only the second half of one wordplay to sort out (the one for the bottom left hand corner going downhill)

Roll on an easier one next week. (p-l-e-a-s-e)

Really pleased to have completed this one, although some of the wordplay still eludes me.

I think I know what you're referring to, Trux - it held me up for quite some time.
Satisfyingly difficult, after too many easy puzzles recently.

Thanks Sabre.
This was my first encounter with Sabre and the puzzle lived up to his reputation - a pretty austere challenge. Very satisfying to complete it, though as above there are a couple of clues that I can't quite parse.
Definitely one for the purists. No gimmicks but a very solid and admirable piece of craftmanship
I also struggled with one of the shortest clues where the wordplay seems to require one (unchecked) letter and Chambers only supports a different letter. Otherwise I found the clueing 'cruel but fair'.
