Yes that is the quick clue.
The cryptic one is: Excited with current measure by editoron a higher floor .So yes amped seems correct . Thanks glasman

Thanks. I saw the title 'MOS cryptic' and remembered seeing earlier the cryptic clue about current. I must admit I've heard the term 'ramped up' but never 'amped up' in this sense- does it relate to rock concerts?
