Following on from a Q below, why has there never been a copycat Jack the Ripper? You would think that with all the myth and mistory surrounding this case, that some nutter would try and emulate it.

There has, I think it was in the 1960's he killed 5 women (all prostitutes) and was never caught.

Yorkshire ripper killed 13 women between 1975 - 1981
The one in the 1960s was called Jack the Stripper.  Someone was arrested for some of the murders, but then was released when there was another murder while the suspect was in custody and therefore had a perfect alibi.
Ted Bundy, American serial killer,  brutalised and killed women who looked similar - attractive, with long dark hair.

Agree that there have been other ripper types. But I was thinking of someone who stalked a run-down area and mutilated the bodies in a particular way. Don't think there has been anything like this.
