Bibblebub - can I have your take on the following - in answer to 13ac I have SALT - (encased by sodium this metallifours ore would relfect when sun rises) taking it from sodium but I am not sure if this is correc - I had east originally (working on the direction of the sun rising)

Try WADT, an ore. With NA for sodium around it N WAD T A, gives At Dawn.

Sorry, getting nowhere, Presumably the letters are ?A?T - for it to be 'east' wouldn't the clue be ... WHERE sun rises ?

I finally came to the same conclusion which is why I have thought salt but cannot really parse it - had been playing around with the chemical symbol for sodium (Na) but got absolutely nowhere! I think I had perhaps better sleep on it? Thanks anywhere for trying!
