I'm assuming it's MET HOD

But ...

"MET" is past tense ... "Become" is present tense ...

... so it doesn't work perfectly.

(is that the first Perfect Tense gag to appear on AB??)

Anyway ... is it a loosely worded clue? or have I missed something?

I have become = I have met (past participle)
Perhaps someone used 'O' when they really wanted 'A'......
