Totally stuck on this last clue. Any ideas or help would be appreciated.

it could be FOSS DYKE.....fosse is a ditch (take away the E...for direction) a dyke is wall to keep flood water back.
Yes, Foss Dyke.I thought dyke could come from "Dry-stane Dyke" -dry stone

Thank you VERY much for that. Ive struggled on it for ages. Its a bit of a convoluted clue but it DOES work. Thanks again
