There is an Article in the Daily Express today where it says 100,000 homes could have been missold to pay for a person's care.
I inherited my mother's half of the house and was living in it with my father and was caring for him.
I was told by the Social Worker that the house would have to be sold and the all the proceeds would have to be used to pay for my father's care including the half which I inherited from Mum.
Realy I think Social Workers are told to pay out as little as possible and to try it on.
I knew the Council could not force the sale of the house as:

A) It was a jointly owned property.
B) I was over 60.
C) I had sold my home to go and care for my father.

After threatening the council with a solicitor full NHS funding was agreed within a day.
Surely the council must have known my father qualified for NHS funding and the Social Worker had been instructed to '' try it on''.
What really concerns me is how many offspring who have been caring for their parents for years have been thrown out of their homes.
