Refused entry to USA under section 212(a)(2)(A)(i) - what does this mean?

Can anyone tell me what this code means as when I look at the INA section 212(a) The letters and numbers that follow do not seem to make sense to me?

I have posted before about my brother being refused a visa in 2007 and we have just had confirmation that this is the code he was refused under. He has a record for wrongfully retaining a credit. It was one offence but there were 3 credits that he didnt pay back immediately to his employer (basically).

Help would be gratefully appreciated as we need to understand this before re-applying.

It means he was denied a visa because he had been convicted of a crime involving moral turpitude - in this case fraud, possibly theft, by the sound of it

Whether it's been long enough since the crime for them to grant a waiver of inadmissibility - pass

NEVER tell the US authorities anything. They have no access to UK criminal records. The only way they can find out, is if YOU tell them.

Too late now, but a lesson for the future!
