15 a Object's mass, say (6)

I have MATTER but there's a lurking suspicion it may be something else.
Can anyone confirm please?
Also, 10 a Cheese I put on mum's fish (10)...it is the plural, MASCARPONI
isn't it?

M utter

Mas carp one
matter
mascarpone
I think you are right on both these CB
sorry,mutter is right..
Sorry ! How can that be the best answer?
lol
cannot find reference to MASCARPONI
will agree with kayakamina, that I = one (on mas carp)
Question Author
It is "I" put on MA'S CARP ON I which is the plural form in Italian...cheese being singular or plural and that's where the trick comes.
As to MATTER...nothing else makes sense unless you are talking about MATTAR PANEER an Indian dish of cheese and peas...oh never mind...just being silly.

Thanks shoota and the rest of you.
Mutter - grumble/object....M (mass) + UTTER ( say) = mutter
right..er..ok
it's almost worth displaying the best answer selection for the comedy value (almost but not quite)
Could be mascarpone, the "one" being an affected term for "I", much favoured by the Royal Family.
Question Author
On reflection kayakamina has a case for MUTTER...but I still say MASCARPONI because it is an "I" and not a "1" and if I find out differently it'll be whine, bitch, moan, carp, crab #$%&#@

Thanks for your input.
I is also the roman numeral for one

You're all brilliant.
I'm sure it mascarpone rather than mascarponi
That's what I've been saying for over half an hour!
I know, kayakamina. I was responding to colonialboy's comment at 20:25
