For the second day running, I think?

Is it any of his business? Should he be allowed a voice?

What a strange question!

It's not strange MarkRae, is it? Confused why you would say that? Valid question as to whether an American actor should have a political voice concerning something he knows nothing about.
Question Author
Perhaps I have put this in the wrong category? If so, apologies.

Why shouldn't he be able to give an opinion, no matter how much others personally disagree with that opinion.
Sean Penn is as entitled as anyone to voice his opinion.
you think American actors should be banned from speaking?

How about anonymous posters on websites, then?
How on earth do you know he knows nothing about it?
Sean Penn is a Snag. Think of the short shrift that a British opinion from anyone on American foreign policy would be given.

Ok to those that are automatically having a go! It's just a question that I would like to discuss. I'm cross with him for slagging the uk off, given the territories the US hold in similar circumstances. Wasn't asking for a fight, or a telling off, just a discussion!
you disagree with him. This doesn't mean he shouldn't be allowed a voice.
well sp is responsible for territories the us holds and he is entitled to his opinion, as you are to yours :-)
"isn't"
Well as he referred to them as "the Malvinas Islands of Argentina" I think it is a reasonably safe assumption that he doesn't know what he is talking about.
Hmm, interesting. in my previous post I described SP as a twit but with an 'a' instead of an 'i'. This has now been changed to 'snag'.

My opinion is a gut reaction I have to say and I think he should mind his own
b----y business! I'm putting my tin hat on now...
Having given this a moment of more measured thought, surely the people living in The Falklands should be allowed to make the decision. And if the majority wish to remain under British sovereignty that's enough surely?
"the Malvinas Islands of Argentina" is the Argentinian name for them, so by referring to them as such I wouldn't say he is showing he doesn't know what he is talking about, he is demonstrating is view on the subject by calling them by the Argentinian name though.
if the people living in the Falklands have been put there by the British, they can be expected to vote to remain British; but it doesn't answer the question of whether they are trespassing on another nation's land.

My thoughts here are that some of you have a go for the sake of it! It's not that clever just to take an opposing view.

Of course Sean Penn is allowed an opinion, but he took it on a world stage and slagged off the UK. If some of you are ok with that, then fine. I would have liked a better discussion regarding HIS countries record (and if he has anything to say publicly about that).
I guess you've got a point, jno. Just a shame ferret-face Sean Penn had to be the one to make it.
