Thanks mintyman - You're the first message I look for on Thursday mornings.
David
Thanks for the link mm
Thanks for the link, mintyman. Let the solving begin!
Thanks mintyman, like Farrnorth this is my first look at the web on Thursdays.
For a sport lover this was quite straightforward, but I can't justify 11d!
Is there an error in the clue or am I missing something?
I'm still stuck on 11 D. Squit robs factories (9) ??????ll?
('...mills'?)
I think I have no chance if someone as august as Kayakamina thinks there's something not right with the clue!
Many thanks for link
Nical - pulpmills seems to be the only word that fits but pulp- squit? - dubious!
Minty - Thanks as always for the link!
That's the word I had, but it just didn't seem to work with the clue!
Many thanks mintyman.

Perhaps there was a misprint in 11d - and it should have been squish, or squidge.
Slaney, that sounds more logical to me!
Many thanks, mintyman.
I don't see any problem with 11d: squit and pulp both include nonsense amongst their meanings.
Thanks AHearer - I thought I had read through all the definitions of pulp, but obviously missed that one!
Have finished the grid fill and identified the necessary highlighting. 24a still eludes me should it be spelled with a k or a c. Using c seems the obvious choice but I cant justify the answer.
I put CAR (Carolus - Charles) + immACULate
A belated "Thank you" for the link. Hope to look at this later.
