23 down (A) Drink to familiar beast (5)

I have T-D-Y

and there's a reference to the keyword "potter" suppposed to be there.

I can think of Toddy (a drink), but don't get the wordplay....any offers?

Toddy cat (the palm civet); cat is a witch's 'familiar' (and hence, I suppose, the connection with (Harry) Potter). No, I don't like it either.

I found toddy cat in a dictionary, so I guess that must be right.

One of a number of clues in this puzzle that I wasn't happy with, actually.
