Question Author
now have 19a
10a back - b(l)ack
Have you mistyped the end of the clue for 12a? It says INELLCE (intelligence?)
NITWIT -not sure where T comes from though
Question Author
sorry factor-should be intelligence
should 12 a start "not in the wider interests THEN"?- so initial letters (primarily) would be NITWIT
n is from N ot
What, exactly, is the correct clue for 12ac? What you have typed makes no sense.
Question Author
i thought nitwit but that contradicts 8d girl's love for east african country
?N?N?A,if nitwit is right-provides 2nd n-but angela fits clue=girl and swop love=o for e,hence my letters for 12a
Eh mojay? I had N from Not.
Not In The Wider Interests Then.
I don't really understand the rest of the clue though
Question Author
12a clue is
'not in the wider interests'primarily wrong-best showing some intelligence
"8d girl's love for east african country "
would be Angola, not Angela
sorry Factor - senior moment - I misread ( that's my excuse! :-) )
Okay- please type clue for 12A exactly and what the letters are if Angela is right (Angela/Angola seems okay)
Question Author
there's no 'then' in the clue!
...therefore it's OUTWIT
Just to clarify- it's ANGOLA
-- answer removed --
Have you got the correct first letter for 12ac. I think
I recall answer to be OUTWIT
outwit out = not in
(t)he (w)ider (i)nterests t, w, i wrong, ie anag
outwit = best using intelligence
