cake?
Turf (patch) backwards with 1 (binary)?
I don't see why it would be cake- I know KE is kinetic energy
[about = CA short for circa, kinetic energy = K.E. common abbreviation used in physics]
cake - I can't see where the a comes from?
ah thanks bibble - I had thought c = circa, wasn't aware of ca
A cake is a compressed mass (eg cake of soap)
Ca= about, KE = kineic energy
If it helps, 27d ends in an 'E'

Thanks all that just leaves 27 Dn which now is definitely ?o?e
27 must be Eton written up giving you NOTE
A third can be a note.
Question Author
Got it. It is TONE because it is ETON with E moved down Thanks all
I think I still prefer NOTE since there is nothing that I can see in the wordplay that suggests the E is dropped to the bottom.
I'd agree gen2
Don't see why it's note.
A third is an interval between two notes rather than a note itself.
Just checked on BigDave44 and it's neither note or tone
