Annoying noises
32 Answers
Argh, how annoying are those noises you can pin down!
There's been this wierd pulsing noise, for about 5 seconds then off for a few minutes then on again), almost like phone on vibrate but further away. Before you start haha, it doesn't sound like "that" kind of vibrating :)
My phone is right next to me so it's not that, haven't got anything else like an alarm clock which vibrates or pulses and the boiler isn't on so can't be that. Not even sure it's even in the house but been pissing it down so loathe to go exploring! It's driving me a bit demented - keep putting the TV on mute to try and work out where it's coming from.

So you do know hat "that" kind of vibrating sounds like then, Jenna?
;-)
Sorry, I can't really help you. I'm not much good at identifying sounds. I once got out of bed to let a buzzing wasp out of my bedroom. It took me a while to find where it was, but I eventually let it out of the window. A bit later, I went through a repeat performance with another wasp, and then went back to bed again. A short while later there was yet more buzzing. I spent ages trying to find out where the wasp was, before I realised that the sound was coming from my neighbour's strimmer!

Ahh Chris :)
No, it's not an ear thing, I have tinnitus anyway. It's a more distant noise. There is a park near me where they sometimes have events but it doesn't sound like form that direction. My hearing isn't great but not bad at telling direction (adapted to living in the city with so much going on I guess!).
It was hammering it down here a bit early but stopped now, just seems to be lots of sharp bursts.

It's so annoying jenna. The last time we were away we bought a travel clock, telling the date time alarm temperature etc. It is shaped like a pyramid and goes through a colour sequence before turning off. Last week I knocked it off the side table and tried to re-set it and gave up with it. This week a friend stayed over and asked me what was playing 'We wish you a merry Christmas' at 4 in the morning. I didn't know. It turned out after a day searching that it is the alarm on the clock set for 4 am. I didn't know it did that.
I've been trying to go through things. My old mobile is dead as the charger doesn't work anymore (used it as an alarm until then). If it's someone else's toy I'd be worried, I've been here nearly two years haha! Will keep my eyes peeled for a UFO ;) Haven't got an electric toothbrush...arghhh...I'm sure it will turn out to be something really boring!
