the age my wife can recieve her state pension has been increased from 60 to 62 and a half,she has 30 years contributions, she has heard that if she is a child minder (she is, unpaid looking after the grandaughter), she could still claim her pension at 60 because she unable to look for work. Is this a mith? or has anybody heard of other reasons to be able to claim.

It is impossible to bring your state pension age forward for any reason.

Is she a registered childminder? I only ask because if she declares that she's a childminder when in fact she's not registered she could be a whole heap of other trouble. There's a lot of things to adhere to

Nobody can get state pension before their official retirement age. If there are financial difficulties there may be other benefits you can claim. You may be thinking about women who do not have enough years NI can claim credits for the years that were unable to work as they were a carer
