Spot on pinkilady, only thing you can do really but be careful you don't scratch the surface, that's why one uses a blunt blade or similar,
No no no no no! Use some White spirit on a soft cloth.
I'm not sure that will take off gloss paint...not assuming it IS gloss paint but when I have inadvertently done this before, I've let it dry and gently scraped it off and all has been well.
I just use my fingernail

it was the decorater!

Sue!! Sorry...but why didn't he/she get it off before it dried...a damp cloth would have sorted it without too much fuss?

Emulsion? Cover it with a sopping wet cloth and leave it overnight, or longer if you like. It should become soft enough to scrape off with something plastic, like a credit card.

I agree with heathfield, a bit of detergent might help too.
Oh! Right, Trimmy. It was laminate in the way of worktops that I had in mind. Obviously a Freudian moment, since I simply can't stand laminate flooring!!
why are you having to clear up after your decorator? get them back - if they mess it up, that's why they have insurance.
