I thought the phrase was 'the patience of a saint'. Most people who've been taught by nuns think they're a bunch of sadists.

Yes, patience of a saint, patience of angels, patience of Job. Nuns don't get a look in. And I agree, bad-tempered bigoted shrews, as a rule.
