I accidently backed my truck into my scooter last week and was told that I could claim on my Full Comp car insurance to have my scooter (3rd Party only cover) repaired or replaced.

Days later I recieve a phone call from the insurance company informing me that it is against the law to do so. Is this true or are they trying to pull a fast one??

You ran over your scooter with your truck but tried to claim from your car insurance? I don't think they are pulling a fast one, how can you claim on your car insurance for an accident in which your car wasn't even involved?

Don't you have insurance for the truck that you can claim from?

Cheekychops - he means his truck insurance.

No, he can't claim from that - fully comp pays out for third party damage and for damage to the truck.

As the scooter is owned by him it isn't third party damage.

no worries - you don't want to buy a scooter with minor tyre marks on it, do you? lol
