Non illegitimi carborundum Don't let the b******* grind you down NB. As i REMEMBER it, but am reasonably confident
I think more correctly "Non illigitimus carborundum"...
It's 'illegitimi', since it refers to these people in the plural. Also, I've generally heard its opening as 'Nil' rather than 'Non'.
Commonly said "Non illigitimi carborunda" is not a latin saying as such. I understand that it dates from schoolboy "faux" latin from WW1.
Nolite ********* carborundum from Margeret Atwood's "A Handmaid's Tale"... Don't know where Atwood got it from.
