The boss has took on an accountant, at work and placed her office next to mine. This means that every time the phone rings in her office my computer slows down. This has been annoying me all morning and so to combat it i pulled the phone cable out of the socket. Unfortunatly withing about 10mins the boss found it and put it back in and then there was about 10 people who called.
What the hell do i do?
Get my office moved, get the women sacked, get rid of the phone?
Also she is really annoying at the moment, she keeps coming in and asking me questions like, crossroads, how do you pull the blind down?
The most ridicluless this morning was: Crossroads, how does my hair look?
Bloody hell, any more questions and i'll throw her out the window.

why does a freelance filmmaker need an office?
Question Author
I'm working in the web design place today dot.
I have 2 jobs.
Not sure how you'd get her sacked, and if it's a problem like describe you can hardly hold her to blame.

Talk to your boss and have the line upgraded. And try get on with her - she's new and trying to make a friend. Who knows, maybe she fancies you...

Oh, she's just come in complaining that i have a better chair than her. I've sent her off to moan to the boss.
So on a bank holiday weekend, on a sunday, you have not only your boss in work, but the accountant and yourself. why do you need an office for a web designinh company? are you all on unsocial hours rate? double time even? seems a rather poor comapny to work for if they need to be so heavily staffed on a sunday that they have to bring in the boss.

Whikerman, i actually find her quite funny!
Its just when this is the 27th time she's come in today you can't help but get annoyed a bit. I'm not being nasty to her, i'm being friendly but just annoyed seceretly. And i think she does fancy me because she seems to have a habbit of making excuses for coming in.

Dot, the boss is here until 2:00, the accountant is here because she's starting today, 2 other people are in finishing off a job, and once i finish my job, i've got to fix the lift apparently because i'm the only one who can do it and the bussiness center doesn't want to call anybody out because they can't be bothered.
So you are a lift engineer too/ is that a part-time job you do too? has your company no health and safety policy whatsoever? What are you using to fix the lift? Dr Who's special screwdriver?
Question Author
Dot, i used to work as an engineer a few years ago, and that was on my CV. Also its the bussiness complex that wants me to fix the lift not the company. Finaly, i don't know whats wrong with the lift until i have a look, but to fix it i'll have to go to my van and get some tools out.
(Always keep a tool box in your van.)
(Also getting payed for it!)
If your PC slows down then surely it is a problem for the boss to sort out- get an IT person in to fix it etc. It's not the woman's fault! If she does keep coming in and annoying you, I would be a bit frosty with her next time so she gets the gist.
Regarding you pulling out the phone socket- I'm surprised you didn't get told off. That's a fairly childish way of expressing your anger! Sorry!
Our lift at work is computerised, so maybe you should just take your laptop and a lead to it.
there seems to have been a helluvalotta posts banned on this thread - what's happened?
my dot.hawkes id seems to have been mysteriously zapped earlier today, it will be tuesday before it is reinstated i guess, it wasn't for over submitting either, someone will have mis-reported my posts out of sheer spite.
