I'm an attractive 18 year old girl and when I was walking back from a shopping trip a Indian man who looked about late twenties stopped me and said "you look nice today" his English was terrible but he tried to ask me out and asked me where I lived. I don't know what it was but he really freaked me out. He seemed like a weirdo.I tried to tell him I wasn't interested but wasn't sure if he understood. I put it out of my mind but then a few days later while in town I saw him again and rather then him just give me a sideways glance he absolutely stared me. Three more times I saw him and both times he absolutely stared me.The last time I saw him was today and I tried not to catch his eye but he stopped me again and this time I was terrified because I was in a secluded area.He asked for my number, did I like him, once again where I lived.I pretended I had a phone call on my cell phone and walked away.I told my Muslim boyfriend but he was very unsympathetic and said it was my fault for wearing unrespectable clothes(I was wearing a long skirt and blouse)
I'm scared to go out alone now. Where I live is a small place and I just don't trust him. It's not like a normal guy asking you out or being a bit interested. It's like he's obsessed!

MMMMmmm paroniod, Zena-lisa? Perhaps, perhaps not, you were there. I am a great believer in listening to yourself and if you felt something was not right, then you should listen to your instinct.

Can you avoid where he is?

Alternatively, there is absolutely no harm at all in mentioning it to your local Police Station.

Don't let him ruin your life.

Are you in Britain ?

There are processes and authorities to protect you from this sort of harrassment. Go to the police if you are afraid.

Why do you mention that your boyfriend is Muslim ? Why do you mention that this man is Indian ? What has that to do with it.
You poor thing, and it doesn't help to get no support from your boyfriend either. You should explain to your boyfriend that you were wearing perfectly normal clothes, and that maybe he should be concerned for your welfare here, really than taking the opportunity to have a dig at you. If I were you I would also mention it to the police. You can say that you may be being paranoid, but you are being harassed by a man and it has happened on a number of occasions. They at least will give you advice. You could just ask them what to do. They will have logged it as a complaint so if anything was to happen, you will have done something about it already.
Regarding the man, try being a bit more obvious. Say in a clear, firm voice "I am not interested, please leave me alone." If he persists go back to the police. I think that just by the way you walk or hold yourself you can give off body language to be more assertive. You could also get yourself a mace spray, just incase. Remember, it is your right to walk down the street and feel safe and not harassed. Act APPALLED if he comes up to you again, and do not be afraid to sound like a cross teacher!!x

It has everything to do with it. When someone is English like you it is so much easier to tell if they are a reason to worry. If they are foreign you never know because this guy may think he is behaving in a very normal manner and there's nothing wrong with it. I say my boyfriend is Muslim to explain is ridiculous attitude to the whole thing
So you are English, and happy that your boyfriend, who should treat you as a special person, blames you for the way you were dressed ?

Get a new boyfriend. Go to the police.

There's a difference between a guy asking you out and being a bit pushy I can handle that but for over a year now this guy has been really into me. He told me I was in his head all the time and he really likes me. Maybe I should be flattered but then again it's not normal to say things like that if you don't know someone. I'm worried he's become obsessed and I'm afraid that he will see me with my boyfriend incase he gets jealous and becomes dangerous.
Question Author
Also why does he want to know specifically where I live? No one asks that when they fancy someone. They might say where as in which town or city but not exactly where.
Becoming dangerous, jealousy or not, is threatening behaviour and illegal in Britain.

Go to the police.
Don't panic, next time he see's you just pretend you don't speak english.
Speak some sh!t to him and he will go away.
Simple.
Thats what i do when i get calls from call centers. Believe me, it really winds them up!
2 things....

Why do you feel the need to tell us you're attractive?

I thought his English was bad? He didn't seem to be able to understand your constant no's? He apparently has no problem telling you that "your in his head and that he likes you"

Question Author
I thought it was important so that you knew this guy wasn't interested in me as a person secondly he had very poor English but he said "You are in my head,I like you lot". I could understand what that meant!
zena-lisa, you can spell weirdo, that in itself is worth of applause. Most baboons spel it rong, like wierdo.

I still say, this is Britain, go to the police.

Don't loose hope.
I sussed this one with the opening statement. 'i am an attractive 18 year old girl' what 18 year old uses the word attractive? let alone kniows how to spell it.
