I once knew a girl called Primrose Black. It is hard to imagine Disraeli holding Primrose Day urged on by Queen Victoria.

Upon the death of British Prime Minister, Benjamin Disraeli on 19 April 1881, Primrose Day was instituted in his honour by Queen Victoria who sent bouquets of primroses to his funeral as the English primrose was his favourite flower .
