Hi People, Hope somebody can Help,
I have an old bakelite Telephonefrom the 1950s and the ringer has gone Dead, I have in my Posession a Internal bell unit 56c and would like to wire this up so that it will ring when I get an incoming Telephone call. Please is there anybody who can help me with the Info to get this bell ringing I appreciate that this might be a Difficult Request but I will keep my fingers crossed in the hope that somebody somewhere has the know how. The 56C is a DC bell - you need an AC bell. If you find one (it'll have two gongs), connect it to pins 3 & 5 on any phone socket, having first inserted a 3K resistor in series with the coils to make it 4K impedance, the current standard for ringing devices.
