Never heard that one! There's "Many a mickle mak's a muckle" which is a Scottish saying, basically meaning that many small things add up to a lot....
I think jorton might have fallen victim to the sudden epidemic of kipper-itis that has spread over the Answerbank. For example:

"Did Dale Winton and a kipper really get married?"

"What do you get if you cross a kangaroo with a kipper?"

"How many kippers would it take to fill a swimming pool?"

...And so on. The outbreak is quite inexplicable.
As Quizmonster hasn't already given a definitive answer, then I suspect it's safe to assume it started somewhere in your head....

I've had many kippers in my time, and none of them has made a cuppa. Am I just unlucky?

Squirre's right..but forget the other standard question "What are the tyre pressures for a 1998 kipper GTi?"
I think you are getting confused by someone with a Brummy accent... as in luvlay kipper tai (lovely cup of tea)
