my boss used to use the word frowzy occasionally to describe people who looked out-dated or not particularly well groomed. he used to be so surprised that none of us had heard of this word.has anyone else heard of it or use it themselves?

my boss was in his late 50's.is it a word that used to be used a lot a few years ago?we honestly thought he'd made the word up.have checked in dictionary before now so know he didn't.
maybe your boss was the original frowzy professor Jenarry as the origin of the word is unknown. you'll have to ask him lol

I use it, but it is a bit old-fashioned. So am I, which may explain this. Not a word young people use much.
