If they are supposed to come from India, China and Africa etc, why have they all got European faces?

things they meddle in, why can't they leave things alone, i don't know what the world is coming to, i really don't.
What do you mean?
Sorry, that to aog?
Lovely moment from Upstart Crow (Shakespeare based comedy) this week (BBC) about being "politically correct".

Shakespeare has written Midsummers Night's Dream but the young girl that lives in his London house complains that it is all based around "fairies and pixies".

She does not think it is right, showing giving someone a potion to make them love you - "giving a drug to someone to make them have intimate relations with you is sexual assault Mr Shakespeare" she says.

Shakespeare says to her "I would have thought that you of all people would agree it’s high time members of the FSNEP community were properly represented in popular drama projects”

What is FSNEP she asks?

"Why it is fairies, sprites, nymphs, elves and pixies" he replies.

Lovely twist, bringing 21st century attitudes to Shakespeare's plays.

Simple enough question, I would have thought.
Post colonial arrogance refusing to have them forrin faces on them forrin trains.

Should be a law or summat.

I blame the Tories and that Jeremiah Corbin.
They don't all have European faces though. The Asian characters, for example, have almond-shaped eyes.
"The Asian characters, for example, have almond-shaped eyes."

Well that's just nuts.
You're upset because some trains have European faceswhen they're not European?
Just a thought, douglas - albeit a nutty one. ;o)
most of the multicultural trains run on rails that are nearer or further apart than the rails used by Thomas in the UK - cue charges of gaugist discrimination......
I always thought it was far to Cymru-centric so I welcome this move.
Too!
Who cares?
^ certainly not four year olds
//Who cares?//
Adults that probably never watch it
There was a Japanese engine years ago.
I don’t think the Rev Awdry’s (frankly awfully dull) books even had any female engines.
I can’t really see the problem. The tv series were already far more culturally diverse than the books which were charming in their way and had wonderful illustrations.

In Rev Awdry's days females were treated with respect and their femininity was thought not strong enough to pull a whole train, but he did have more sedate female carriages.

And what about Nia from Kenya one of the characters who has been added to the show in a bid to introduce more multi-cultural characters
