I should add..what's the difference between HD and HD 1080p, will my ps3 run on only HD ready without the 1080p..?
Not on that TV you won't as it's only a 720p not a 1080p display, have a look a the specs.
Yes your Playstation will work on it but not in full HD(1080p).
Well it won't work in 1080 because that's not a 1080 TV, in fact according the the specs it's not even a 720HD resolution (not sure how they can describe it as HD!)

The numbers are the amount of pixels that make up the screen, 1080 is 1920pixels wide by 1080pixels high and 720HD would be 1280wide x 720high

That TV is 1024 x 768.... which is a really strange resolution for a TV (Its a computer monitor resolution)

Oh I take it a ps3 can't run on 720p?

Hmm even with an HDMI cable it won't run in hd?
Even with the help of unicorns and magic you won't get 1080 from a screen that doesn't physically have that amount of pixels...

you'd be better looking at a different TV..

Also you should get a TV with a refresh rate of 100hz or higher or your games may/will stutter or hang when playing.

Looks like I'll be saving up for a bit longer, thanks for the answers
I'd actually suggest you stay away from LG altogether, go for a better brand such as Samsung or Panasonic and you'll get a better picture.

Oh okay thankyou

Just curious as to why my current tv runs my ps3 fine? Its an HD tv not 1080p' the picture seemed to be perfect.
Because you can set a PS3 to play at different resolutions but to get the most out of it you need a 1080p capable TV.
If you're using a HDMI cable then it will run in whatever resoltion the TV supports (720 I assume if it's not 1080)

If you are using a scart lead you are running it in SD, not HD.

Okay I think if be okay without the 1080p, on a low budget anyway.
Correct me if i'm wrong but 720 is HD but not full HD which is 1080.
and as far as i'm aware the only thing that will put a full HD signal into it is Blu-ray.
A PS3 has a blu-ray player built in.
PS3s, Xbox360s and most computers can output full 1080 HD.
