Problem with Tom Tom

We bought a tomtom XXL from new zealand and have got it home and downloaded and paid for the english maps off the website, but it only lets you put half a postcode in then you select the town and then have to put the address in it just seems pointless what if you only had poscode. with all english ones you can just put the full postcode. Anyone know why and if it can be changed. Thanks

A bit of web searching suggests that you need to install the UK postcodes 'zip' file. (TomTom use 'zip file' to refer to a list of full postcodes - as in the US zip codes - rather as to a compressed file).
However I can't find out where you get the file from or how you install it!
I suggest phoning TomTom's UK support line, on 0845 161 0009 (Mon-Fri 0900-1830).
