Your mixing it up with the ''What was the Byrds best known hit" question ... lol

5.499053 miles above sea
5.49
Well both answers sound very plausible (although both can't be right since 5.499053 rounds to 5.50 not 5.49).
Then 5 must be the answer ... in complete miles.
Agreed, Naz.

Don't know how to use the Author section. Just back from a quiz where I put the answer as 5.5 miles, only to be told that it is eight miles.
It can't be 8 miles. That would be 42240 feet which isn't right unless sea levels have fallen significantly since I was at school when Everest was 29000 feet

No way is it 8 miles. Not even close.
Well, since the advent of Sat Nav it has 'grown' from 29,028 to 29,035 feet. Not sure what that is miles, but anyone is welcome to convern this for me.
THey had 7ft of snow on the day they programmed the SatNavs.
or the guy holding the sat nav was down a well.
Still 5.499 miles
... with that annoying voice telling him, "as soon as possible, climb up".
The increase in height is because continental drift is still going on and the Himalayas are still getting higher.
Seems so miniscule when it's put into miles!
Olympus Mons on Mars is three times that height Sophie

Glad I came back. I'd forgotten how much fun it is
There is a much higher mountain than Everest here on Earth. It just happens to be all underwater.
Mauna Kea isn't it?
