its been there for years it would be impossible to hand pick out roots and all, is there something we could spray the wall down with that would kill the grass growing out. This is an outside wall not part of a building its decoration only really. As low cost as possible would be good ie if it could come ready spray that would be good because we dont want to be buying sprayers you carry on your shoulder the big things, because we are about to move house anyway to another rented.

Thanks in advance

When it is fully green and growing well, drench with SBK weed/brushwood killer. It will brown off and die.
Spray regularly until any re-occuring green signs are gone.

Thanks alot for that Albags, will look out for that at my local garden centre
Any ready to use weed killer containing Glyphosate will do the job. This will be in Roundup and other similar weed killers.
I always use Sodium Chlorate weed killer from Wilkinson's or any good store.
Mix powder with water and spray on using a hand spray bottle from the kitchen.

thanks
sodium chlorate has now been banned
Roundup - brilliant stuff, be very careful of drift onto any other foliage.
Sodium Chlorate becomes illegal after 10/5/10 and weed killers that contain bifethrin may be sold until 31/5/10 and must be disposed of or used for one year.
The fastest one to do an excellent job is Resolva - has a knock down in 1 - 3 days. This is an extremely efficient weed/plant killer so you would need to hold cardboard against any desired plants to protect them from the spray drift.

thanks everyone
Wak ..
Very appropriate your avatar.
Sodium Chlorate kills everything in sight, and is harmful to beneficial insects (especially butterflies that land on plants, only to receive fatal doses of this stuff) pets, and humans.
Roundup .. SBK .. practically same thing.
I find a pinch of salt on the centre of dandylions in lawns sees them off in no time, but keep it off the grass.
yep ... old trick Carlton : )
