Yeah i thought of that but id have to work part time and my job is full time, i think they'd get rib of me all together rather than allowing me part time?
Ouchi...

I know how you feel, Im of similar age and also didnt go to universaty for personal reasons... I am now married and trying to get a property of my own... I have thought about going back to study but the thought of leaving my job and struggling to make payment doesnt appeal to me... Also I would like to have children in a few years and would like to stay home untill they are in full time school and if I went to study I probably would still be studying then or trying to build a career...

I had to make a choice and I did... I don't regret it but sometimes I wonder what it could have been... I am no where where I imagined being at this age but I am happy and you just have to stop thinking about what it could have been...

Time you make your decision and not look back... Live life :)
i have 2 good friends doing degrees at moment, i shall ask them where they are studying. One has 4 children under 10 and a full time job, the other has 5 children, and works full time hours too.

It can be done, but it takes a lot of willpower to succeed
Hi Becki x

Loads of questions.........

Do you have a boyfriend now and are you planning to get married?

Can you afford to pay for your Uni/College studies?

Would you have any regrets, if you DONT do either soon?

If you were to lose your job and go to Uni/college, How would you live and pay your household bills etc?

Would you be able to go back to your old job if things dont work out?

Will you be able to get another job in the area you live in?

What is it YOU want most, as a matter of satisfaction?

If you were to leave your job, would you be able to find another one as good, well paid and enjoyable?

At 25, you're still young enough to do what you wish for, do BOTH and see it through.

My opinion is if you really want to do something and will be able to financially manage it....go for it, as you may regret it in later life........talk to your friends and family and get some advice from them.

Whatever you decide to do, i hope you'll be happy and enjoy it, Becki, and .................best of luck!

SUDFB...sounds like your the same as me, it tough hey! Im feeling a bit like ive wasted my youth i know im still young but im so worried about money etc its driving me mad!

Thanks red x
Becki ...

You might feel grown up, but you are really young.

You have plenty of years to shuffle jobs, do more studying, re-think your life.

Do not be afraid of the adventure.

If you are going to marry anyone, marry someone who will support you on all your little adventures.

I did go to University. It was a mistake. I wanted to do English. But ... I did Law.

As soon as I'd qualified, I decided I didn't want to spend my life in a stuffy profession earning reasonable - but frankly not great - money.

So ... I gave it up, and embarked on my own adventure. It's been great, and I make a lot more than I could ever have made as a lawyer.

The main thing is, as I've said ... do not be afraid. Sometimes you have to just pin back your ears and go for it.
btw....

Part time evening courses OR 1 day release courses ARE an option....that way you dont have to leave work!....and you will be on your schedule.

Good Luck again, sweetheart

Becki I fully understand, although people say to you ''oh your young your only 25'' but you feel like your wasting time? or that you don't have enough time to do everything you want? I know how it feel.

Im 22 and all I think is I need tog et on to the property ladder etc etc etc... and I worry about money and the future. And although people tell me that I am young and have time, but for some reason I feel that I don't and if Im wasting my time on worrying about things I shouldnt have to worry about or if Im right and concentrate on building a stable life for the future...
Oh wow Becki that was what I started doign in college fashion and photography... but you need to buy all of your equipment, fabrics so on and its so expensive... :(
Becki,

I'm not sure on this, but can you get a grant/ govt help to finance your Uni/College course AND get to go part time evenings, as it WONT affect your job at all?

Look into it.........you never know what you may be entitled too!

Thanks guys, Im sure i will get some help and loans etc, but i don't even know where to start, ive looked at the open uni on line and i cant find a course, ive looked at Plymouth uni (closet uni to me) and it all needs qualifications or portfolios?? Im getting myself more confused!
Becki... if you realy want to do this, their are short courses especially designed to creat and build portfolios... Also you can do some of your work at home to add to the portfolio... I studied fashion in college, if you need any help feel free to ask :)
Why not try a few evening classes in subjects you think you might want to do a degree in?

That way you have an idea what they are about and will know it will be right for you rather than committing to a full degree and finding out it is not for you?

Also if you do decide to apply for uni full time they will not look so much at qualifications but rather your age and experience, and you can start your own portfolio of work through evening courses.
