You can appoint somebody to be a legal guardian for a child in your will, though.

Wondering if perhaps you were thinking about guardianship for a child, should the parents die. I think this would have to be arranged legally while the parents were still alive. Perhaps you could ask Ethel, I'm certain she would be able to explain to you whether this is possible, and if so how to go about the arrangement.

Agree with all the previous posts.

Personally quite relieved that you cannot inherit a child , leave me the cash instead.!!!!
My Auntie and Uncle had legal documents drawn up to make my parents legal guardians for their kids in the event that anything happened to them both. There are loads of other relatives but they didn't want to take the chance that the kids would end up with some of my uncles family.
