My husband and I separated in 2005. We have joint ownership of a property in which he still resides. I have tried to make several times to come to an agreement regarding the equity in the property but he is unwilling to either sell of buy me out.

I am a full time working woman but due to low income and high rental charges I cannot afford to go through a solicitor for legal advice. I need to know how or if I can apply for an order of sale and how much it would cost me?

You can have a meeting with a solicitor and the first 30mins are free, if your on a low income then you'll most likely get legal aid
Very difficult to get legal aid for this sort of thing nowadays.

See a solicitor with a view of raising an Action of Division and Sale. It should not be too expensive and can be paid from the proceeds of the house sale.
