Please, can anyone recommend, an effective method for getting rid of fleas? I've bathed him with flea shampoo, washed his bedding, vacuumed the house and sprayed with flea spray. And I still keep finding the little critters on him! He's also had 3 lots of frontline drops from the vet.

Thanks

hi. iv done exactly the same with my 2 cats and i still keep finding them i dont know wot 2 suggest b cos iv done exactly the same as u. i think this year has been a bad year for flea infestation. however u can get another sort of frontline from the vet which also contains sum thin 2 kill the baby stages of fleas as well as the adults have u tried this yet?
think it's been a very bad year this year - maybe something to do with us all having the heating on more than usual. Poor you but its just a case of keep trying, obviously animals are getting re-infected from somewhere so would it be possible to steam clean the carpets etc - have a bit of an early Spring clean. Also, have you de-wormed them at the same time? this needs to be done to break up the cycle Good luck!

Thanks. I might have to do that. Up to now I haven't actually seen the vet, I've just bought the drops from the vet's nurse.
the only thing that really works is front line
You need to take a holistic approach - the fleas are probably in your home (carpets, bedding &c) and are only going on the dog to feed. They won't survive outside in this weather so they're having a lovely time in your nice, warm house! You can get a spray called Staykill to use on the soft furnishings (make sure you spray all around the edges of carpets, where they meet the wall, in particular) but don't use it on the dog and when you wash the bedding, put it on the hottest was you can.
Also helps if you put stuff that you cannot wash and dont want to spray inthe freezer overnight - kills the eggs - works the same for moth infestation
Hi not sure what country you're from but in england we have a pharmacy called manor pharmacy they stock medicines for pets too one is a large tin of flea spray that you spray all aorund your house it kills them on contact it sound like you have an infestation in your house and they will just keep going on your dog this spray eliminates them from the source i can recommend it because the same thing happened to me and it was the only thing that worked i think it may be called staykill but a quick call to the manor would sort you out thats if your have one near you or are even in this country whatever the case it must be available else where i bet the vets sell it too i think it's around 10 to 15 pounds but worth it for a flea free home plus it's a big sized tin

Thanks lifigirl, yes I am in England. I've got Staykill, but got worried when I read all the do's and don'ts on the side of the can. But I'm definitely going to use it now.

Thanks to all, for your suggestions.
