Is it because I lied when I was 17?

What was the biggest lie you told at 17, or thereabouts?

Morning Sall, I can't remember that far back.. What was your fib, it must have been a whopper for you to remember unless you're only 18 that is :-0
But I'm sure I might possibly have fibbed to my mum what I was really doing on Friday and Saturday nights (just between me and you I wasn't really going to the church youth club.....sssshhhhhhh!!!!!!)

I lied quite a lot when I was 17 - needs musted. Mostly about my stopping at my BF's mum's house when I was in fact sleeping over at his.

And also to the BF himself - that he was my 'one & only' when in fact I had developed a big crush on Nigel in the office at work & we once got up to some very naughty things at a party one night....

Hell - I was only 17...!
Lying has nothing to do with rain,

It's because you are so hot and steamy, and need cooling down.
My parents were panic stricken when I disappeared all night at 17 years old. My friend and I had both lied about our whereabouts and hadn't expected any checks.

We were having a great time though - so the lies were worth it!!! At 17 I had no conscience about such things. Oh to be back in the free and easy swinging sixties of my youth!!

My own children were far more considerate, thank goodness!!
Sall, shocked and stunned........ (tell me more!!!!) lol.

Precious memories Sall.

I think 17 to 20 were probably my best years. Had a riot, but never caused trouble, never brought trouble home but my god, I had a ball.
Age 17 went to Butlins before starting Uni. First night met an upmarket girl who worked on the kitchen implement counter , Woolworths Wolverhampton. Told her that I flew Vampires (Jet fighters) in the RAF and when we took of for manouvres, each pilot jissed a photograph of his wife/girlfiend whish was hanging in the cockpit (photograph NOT girlfriend). I told her that I had no such treasure....she was almost in tears as we danced to "Unchained Melody" and she gave me a photograph of herself. Yes...I did get my end away.
Actually looking back, I was horrible at 17 - lived life to the full and had no conscience about anything I did!!

Oh yes Lottie - my children have never lied to me either... ;-)

Logic - hot & steamy eh? That could explain a few things. The pavement does steam up all around me when I am indeed rained upon.

It wasn't Butlins at Clacton was in Sqaddy!!! ;o)
You have to have a bit of rain sometimes to appreciate the sun when it comes out.....after bad always comes good!
Actually, they didn't lie Salla - just didn't tell me anything!!!
O my god loads of lies at 17 just to stay out and go clubbing and then I got in more trouble when mum found out I;d lied where as if I;d askled in first place she would have let me. Didnt even go clubbing in the end, slept out in a car when I according to mum I was staying at a mates, unfortunately her best mate saw me in it in morning
No lofty, it was Skegness.
Does anyone actually regret the lies? they were only little white ones really....
I'm sure our parents knew exactly what we were doing (well, hopefully NOT EXACTLY), at 17 it was inconceivable that our parents had EVER been young. Let alone had any sort of life that didn't include going to cinema, having fish & chips and still having change from a farthing!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just proves what Leggy said yesterday,
It's women who are deceiptful ,
yer I do because I lied I got grounded whereas as I said if I;d just asked she probably would have let me
Any way salla I don't think even GOD can remember that far back.

Logic: I had plans for Nigel alright... !! Unfortunately he got into drugs & ended up going very queer indeed.

Lottie: not to lie; just not to say anything - that's the best way

and Squaddie: Butlins Skegness? Only just down the road from me - I spent many a happy weekend there. Funnily, I met a RAF jet fighter there once; it must have been 'the' place for them all to go??!!

(I also cleaned chalets there one summer for some pocket money - absolutely disgusting job that used to make me retch. The loos, the fridges, uuurrrggghhh gross vile).

Squaddy - phew, saved!! Clacton 1964!!
