Hi all,
can anyone tell me some titles of books that are or have previously been used in the Access to HE Nursing, Midwifery and Social work Course. I'm starting college in September and although I know I will get a list when I start but I would ideally like to use the Summer hols to read through some to familiarise myself with them. I am hoping to goto Uni next year to do a degree in Nursing. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

booklists are generally course specific so you would need to contact the college where you are going and see if you could get some advice about the literature that they use. other than that, get a basic foundation in nursing book and/or an anatomy textbook - nursing is very hot on students knowing the basic anatomy of their patients (unsurprisingly) and the earlier you start familiarising yourself with stuff, the better. i found this useful as i had no science/biology teaching before my nursing course and had to learn the hard way! good luck x
