1/ I'm off work with depression, and finally found the courage to tell my mum tonight, cos my best mate was here. She, of course, asked me to come back home.
2/ I'm 30, single, overweight, and off work
3/ I'm desperately in love with said best mate (male) but cannot bring myself to spill it out cos I don't wanna ruin everything.
4/ I talked to my dad on xmas day, after 15 years of no contact.

Hi Max - in your situation this is what I would do - luckily for you you dont have to listen to a word I say ;-)

1/ Keep talking to your Mum but dont move back home unless being where you are is a problem to you.
2/ Stay off work till you feel like going back & dont beat yourself up about the weight problem
3/ Hmmmm - any signs that he could secretly feel the same? If so tell him - if not so try to find out before you tell him anyway.
4/ If it was good contact try to keep it going.

good advice by any means. I told my mum she didn't have anything to worry about, but it's hard for her when my cousin who was only 3 years older than me committed suicide two years ago....Bless her.
When it comes to my best mate, well...I think I'll just wait and see. He hasn't had a gf since I've met him (two years ago), but had been saying that he doesn't want to spoil our friendship...Argh!
Dad hasn't contacted me since january.

Dad hadn't contacted me in 15 years. It took my brother looking for him, of his grave, as we didn't know if he was dead or alive. I got drunk on xmas day and got his number from my bro. He hurt me a lot as a child, not sure i wanted anymore than just knowing he's alive, really. xxx

Ha you are french then ? and i used Quoi because its the only french word I know & I wanted to use it somewhere lol.
This family stuff is cr@p isnt it? - I have 10 in my family and the arguments go on forever - I have a sister who has been uncontactable for that period of time - I think of her a lot as she has had a few bad relationships before she chose to detach herself.
