how about a category for the older ABers, Silver Surfers wouldn't be a bad title for it.

How old are you jonukas and what do you consider as older?
The reason for the phrase, 'silver surfers', Jonukas, is to indicate that older people are using the Internet in exactly the same way as younger ones. The same applies to travelling, reading...sky-diving, snorkelling, parachuting...eating, drinking and a host of other activities.
The days when all grannies dressed in black and sat by the fireside knitting and all grand-dads spent the day at the bowling-green are long gone!
I could be wrong, but I imagine that they would be unimpressed by a special 'Oldies' category, which they might consider a form of retirement ghetto...I certainly am. Sorry!
I'm going to be 40 in June does that make me an oldie? I hope not :-)

Oops ! I didn't think anyone would have been upset by my suggestion, I just thought that a category where retired people could share their problems or give each other tips etc. for days out, hobbies, or even how to eke out their money etc. , would have been of some benefit.
As to the question of my age, I am 65, and I don't mind if someone calls me an 'oldie', and no, I don't spend all day at the bowling green, I am much more active thah that.
I may be wrong, but I thought that in a recent poll, on this forum, the older generation were in a minority, I am sure that someone will put me right about that.
Jonukas
I wasn't offended jonukas,my reply was very tongue in cheek...........I appreciate it may not have come across that way, sorry.
BTW Quizmonster I am a granny and I knit too.........even though i'm not yet 40. I alos wear a lot of black :-)
Question Author
DAFFY, you didn't come across as offensive at all, sorry if you thought that I thought that.
Jonukas
I'll go with Quizmonster , but not tucked away in any 'oldies' box - I'm a dazzling blonde.....with spiky hair!!!
I wish I could sit in a corner, by the fire, knitting instead of all this gallivanting that us oldies have to do now. Ah well, must dash, got a bungy-jump arranged!!
I'm sure you do wear black, Daffy, but probably in the form of skimpy top and mini-skirt. And very fetching you are in them, too, I have no doubt! I was thinking more of my own grannies...long gone now, God rest them.
I certainly wasn't upset by your suggestion either, Jonukas, but only saying that I myself probably wouldn't bother accessing such a category. I'd have no objection, obviously, to anyone else doing so. Cheers
silver surfer . wasnt he in the fantastic four ?

You will never put me on that category I use (Just for men)
Good morning to you two 'old' ladies, Cetti and Neti, too. That makes you sound like a music-hall duo! Singers? Dancers? Comediennes? I wonder what your act would be. Trapeze artistes, I imagine, given bungee-jumping is a hobby for one of you at least! Good to see you.
Iv just had a look at that silver surfer website suggested by SteveD . What a good site it is for young and old
There could be a topic caled 'WrinklyBank' which would be just under the Weather (like wrinklies often are).
Don't remind me Octavius! Too much dancing last night has had disastrous results.
Oooh, how did you know I was out on the town last night?!
Definitely under the weather this morning, Octavius - went too far on my mountain bike yesterday and got lost.

Where's the army when you need 'em?
I don't think we need this category.

For our problems with incontinence, dentures, creaky joints, the menopause etc. there is Body & Soul.

When dementia starts creeping in, there is Chatterbank. :)
Ha ha, Mrs O. Well said!
