whilst doing the hoovering! I can positively understand why. But how many other halves help with the housework? Is housework a boy thing or a girl thing?

The days where the husband was the main breadwinner and came home expecting his dinner on the table, are thankfully long gone.
Before we agreed that I would work from home, we shared the housework 50/50, as I'm here most of the time, I do the lions share of the housework, however Mrs 4GS does her bit when she gets home, or at the weekend.
I pick our eldest up from school and there are more and more men staying at home being a househusband these days,

I have to admit I rarely do the hoovering, but my wife never has to do the washing up and I do mean never and it's not because we use paper plates either, and she don't have to go up on the roof either when a slate comes loose.
and I have now learnt how to work the washing machine and get the clothes in if it starts to rain, took a long time but i did the hang of it, be patient with us please, we are after all merely men, we will get there.Ray

4GS, we're the same, mostly 50/50. The current Mr ES does all the cooking, I do all the housework but I also help him do all the DIY. I do most of the gardening including cutting the grass but I have to say he is a great cook.
I disagree with Aquagility though I think a lot of men are now swapping roles as the women become the breadwinners. Seems sensible to me?
