I would say not more than 16-20 lbs.

Thanks for the info. I am spending Christmas in a rented house in UK (live overseas) and am cooking Christmas dinner for 20 people.

Can - here in the USA - at any supermarket - we can order a turkey hot from the oven for a holiday meal. Perhaps they do that in the UK also - that way you could get a huge one without the worry of it fitting.
